Organisation type: Research and technology organization

About the partner:

CARTIF is a private applied research and technology centre that develops solutions to improve sustainability, industrial competitiveness and societal well-being. Its expertise spans energy, construction, manufacturing, health, agri-food, the environment and digital technologies.

The centre combines artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), robotics and data analytics. Working with companies, public authorities, universities and research consortia, CARTIF turns scientific knowledge into practical solutions, products and services with economic, environmental and social benefits.

Role in BRISA:

Smart monitoring and AI-driven industrial risk management

CARTIF leads the development of BRISA’s smart monitoring and digital integration framework. It designs the data infrastructure, develops modular semi-fixed and wearable monitoring units, and connects AI models, digital twins and continuous risk management tools. Together, these technologies help turn monitoring data into useful information for assessing industrial risks.

CARTIF also leads the development of a decision support system to help industrial teams identify risks and make informed decisions. It supports the deployment and testing of these technologies across BRISA’s industrial pilots and works to improve sensor performance.

In addition, CARTIF contributes to the development of recycling processes for polyester fibres recovered from end-of-life tyres, supporting the reuse of these materials.
