About the partner:
Foresa Technologies S.L.U. is the research and development spin-off of FORESA, serving the construction, wood, insulation and paper sectors. Its expertise spans chemical product design, analytical testing, process optimisation and the formulation of bio-based additives and resins.
The company combines product and process development with technical consultancy. Its work prioritises safety, industrial hygiene, environmental protection and sustainability, supported by product stewardship under REACH and CLP requirements and environmental management practices.
Role in BRISA:
Developing safer bio-based binders to reduce toxic foundry emissions.
Foresa Technologies contributes industrial expertise in bio-based binder chemistry. It leads Task 3.3, developing resin formulations that replace part of their fossil-based content with renewable feedstocks such as lignin, black liquor, tannins and sugars.
The company develops safer alternatives to conventional fossil-based binders for the foundry pilot. These formulations aim to reduce VOC emissions, including phenol, formaldehyde and benzene, by more than 50%. Foresa Technologies also supports the commercial exploitation of the resulting binder solutions.
