Organisation type: Research and technology organisation
About the partner:
AICE – Asociación de Investigación de las Industrias Cerámicas (Ceramics Industries Research Association), operating through the Institute of Ceramic Technology (ITC) is a Spanish research and technology organisation specialising in ceramic materials, manufacturing processes and industrial sustainability.
Based in Castellón, at the heart of Spain’s ceramic cluster, its multidisciplinary team combines scientific expertise, advanced facilities and close collaboration with industry.
ITC carries out research and development, testing and knowledge transfer across the ceramic value chain. It helps companies improve materials and processes, reduce environmental impacts, adopt digital technologies and introduce new solutions into industrial production.
Role in BRISA:
Coordinating BRISA and advancing safe and sustainable ceramic manufacturing.
ITC coordinates BRISA, guiding collaboration across the consortium and overseeing progress towards the project’s objectives. It brings expertise in emissions monitoring, air quality assessment, life cycle assessment (LCA), process digitalisation and industrial process optimisation.
It also leads one of the industrial case studies, supporting the integration, demonstration and validation of BRISA’s solutions under real operating conditions. Through this work, ITC supports the adoption of safe and sustainable by design (SSbD) approaches across industrial value chains.
